Well I just gave birth March 30th and my way of spending some fun time with my oldest daughter is through planting flowers and playing with dirt. These are some of the flowers we have for our Mummy & Madi time.

Aside from my daughter my honey Aaron is the love of my life. He makes me laugh when I need it, hugs me when things go wrong and tells me things will be ok. I always said communication is the key to a successful relationship and I can honestly say that Aaron and I have not only that but much much more. He came into my life knowing I suffer from depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and that I still have to overcome a lot of things in my life, but he accepts me for me and all my faults. I could not ask for a better boyfriend or father figure.

Emma and Brennan we wed at the Ramada Inn, Belleville Ontario on August 9th, 2008. The photos were in the grounds behind the Ramada and Reception followed back in the banquet hall of the Ramada Inn.

I had the opportunity to work with a great photographer getting into the Wedding Industry, Todd Metcalf from Toronto Ontario.

This beauty was frozen to the ice today when I went down to the water with my boyfriends niece.

It was sad to see her so helpless. After realizing her right wing was frozen to the ice, we proceeded to go to the store to use the phone to see if our Finest could come out and rescue her. With that phone call came disgust.

Ms. Wannamaker from the Quinte West OPP said that although the bird was majestic and all people really shouldn't be feeding her/him. That we had no choice but to let nature takes it course. If people didn't feed her/him the bird could take care of itself.

Well this pissed me off royally because every animal has a right to live or to try to.

So I said fine I will call Animal Control, well go figure they were not there to answer.

Just as I was about to call the Fire Department, a guy in the store asked why I was pissed. I explained that Quinte's finest had the balls to tell me to let the bird die. I have trained in the Veterinary Field and could not let this happen to her/him. Just the day prior (Jan-09-09) to this (Jan-10-09) she/he came right to me. Maybe she/he was asking me for help in her own way as she/he had the huge ice chip on her/his wing that day.

The temperature dropped to -20 degrees celcius last night. We believe this is why it got frozen to the ice.

Well Ken a guy I knew from years ago a fellow DJ, went to his house and got a couple tools to walk out on the ice and risk his life for this bird.

Ken made his way out to the Frozen Beauty and knelt before her/him to it know he meant no harm. With a few hisses and sudden movement moving it from its curled up nestled spot on the ice to what you see above. The bird faught to get away, of course I am hoping it didn't rip its wing off :( Well Ken was able to take a hammer and chip the block off of the ice so it could swim and try to melt what was left.

The block still weighed down its wing as it swam happily off into the water. Here is hoping it does not come back up and get stuck again because apparently the police in this area could give a crap about all living things.

I had the pleasure of working with another great photographer Robert Scott at this wedding. Robert has sense turned his photography business from Weddings to Nature. Good luck in your search for success in the Nature Area, Mr Scott. It has always been a pleasure working with you.

I was the second shooter at Jennifer and Dave's Wedding. I was honored to be asked to work with Mr. Scott on this day. I was also the Disc Jockey at this event as well.

The famous Shoe Game. This is where you sit the Bride and Groom back to back. The Emcee has a list of questions in which he asks the Bride and Groom. At which time the couple have a shoe of their own and their new spouse.

Example: Who is most likely to do the dishes? If the groom is most likely and the couple know each other the Groom would hold up his shoe, and Bride should she know her husband well enough would raise his shoe as well. It is funny when the couple are asked a question they would never even think of.

10 Reasons Why Professional Photographers Charge You What They Do

10. Professional photographers are in business, and as a business, need to make a profit. Because they make it their career, they dedicate themselves to becoming the best they can be, and share that knowledge with their clientele.

9. Professional photographers have to buy professional equipment. Nope, they don't just pick up a point-and-shoot from Wal-Mart and declare themselves a professional. They spend thousands upon thousands of dollars getting multiple camera bodies, the finest lenses, flash equipment for every situation, tripods, light stands, backdrops, props, carrying and storage cases. And then when you think you have it all - you need to get backups for everything to make sure you never miss an image.

8. Professional photographers continue their education, and learn as much as they can about the business. They join groups like Professional Photographers of America or the National Press Photographers Association. They attend seminars and training by some of the best names in the business. They concentrate on becoming the best they can be.

7. Professional photographers don't just snap a picture, they create a photograph. They understand positioning. They understand lighting. They understand placement. You're not just paying for the ability to place a finger on the trigger and snap a picture. You're paying for the years of experience it took to create the perfect image.

6. Professional photographers can spend hours producing one professional photograph.

Time can include:
* creating the marketing
* answering emails and phone calls
* meeting with the client to talk about the event
* setting up for the event
* drive time to and from the event
* time for the actual photographing
* running to and from the lab
* meeting with the client for previews and decisions
* processing the image
* retouching the image
* mounting the image
* framing the image
* packaging the image
* dropping off final images
* production work
* follow up work

Add it all up, and you can see why one portrait session may include hours worth of work. It's impossible to stay in business if you only make a few pennies per client.

5. Professional photographers have to be more than photographers. They have to be CEOs and marketers, and bankers, and salespeople, and production workers, and janitors, and buyers, and negotiators, and networkers, and drivers, and organizers. And photographers. That's a lot of skills for one person to master.

4. Professional photographers will do it all. Want to get married at the top of a 14,000 foot high mountain, where the only way up is a 30 minute ski-lift ride? A professional photographer will be there. Want a portrait running through the waves on a Southern California beach? A professional photographer will be there.

3. Professional photographers aren't just order takers, they provide total customer service. Professionals photograph dozens or even hundreds of clients a year. They understand what looks good, how to put together albums, and how to group multiple photographs together. Their goal is to provide you with what you need and what's best for you - not just have you sign on the dotted line.

2. Professional photographers watch for the newest, most innovative, creative products available. They stay up to date on industry news, and find things that perfectly match their clients taste. They don't try and fit you into something you don't like - they find out what you want and search the world over for the perfect things. They are the professional.

1. Professional photographers have the knowledge and the skill to make you look the best you can be. I can buy a hammer for a few dollars at the hardware store. Yet I spent hundreds of dollars for a handyman to repair my deck. I can buy a needle and thread for a few dollars at the fabric store. Yet I spent over $100 on alterations at a local tailor. It's not about the tools; it's about the outcome.

Sure, anyone can buy a camera and take a picture. You can head down to your local discount store, wait several hours and have a minimum wage clerk place you on an X and snap a few pictures. But they can't get what a professional can get. They won't concentrate on expressions. They won't advise you on outfits and locations. They won't provide 110 percent customer service. You won't get a professional portrait.

Isn't it time to see a professional?

We shoot with a Nikon D70 and D80 with a couple backups including a point and shoot. We require a deposit which is non refundable to ensure the security of your special day, this is half the cost of the quoted package.

Sunset at Glenora

Well we were very fortunate to find a great photography buddy in 2007. Diana is awesome. We were out an about one day and drove to Lake on the Moutain. During that time we took the Glenora Ferry home. While waiting for the Ferry the most beautiful sunset I had ever seen was waiting for the photo opportunity.

Well my ex, myself and our friend Diana like to go for drives and take pictures. This day we drove around and one day we went to Glenora there in the Picton area.

This was such a breath taking day for me. We were waiting for the ferry and to my eyes was the most beautiful site in the world.

My friends from Stream were looking at getting pictures done for everyone for Christmas. They took me up on the offer of free pictures and I think some of them turned out nice.

It was sooo chilly. Eric looks cold. But all in all the photos were nice. But they were both great sports. :) We were down in Zwicks Park in Belleville.

This is my favorite picture of my daughter and her father (my ex) Rob. This was one of our outings to Presqu'ile in Brighton. This was also my first attempt at a sillouette. I wish I could put this on a fathers day card or something.

I am sure I will have plenty other opportunities to do more of these, but this one is by far my favorite.
